"Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as
long as life lasts." - Rachel Carson
Dearest readers, we are past the cusp, heading to my favorite time of year. I love Autumn and the Holidays, and this will be our first in our own real home, in nine years.
Diane and I have entered a new cycle of life experience, and so I am starting to play with the format of this letter. Times they are a changing, and so must we all.
The nature photos (Deer and sunset) on this page, were taken from our new mountain home. It is the home of our dreams, from dreams a decade old.
Everyday now I wake up and live the old Navajo Prayer:
"Beauty before me, beauty behind me, everywhere I go I walk in Beauty."
May Beauty Surround you Too
Happy Holidays :-)
Jeffrey and I are now living in what is called a micro climate and I had first hand experience of what that meant. On October 1st, we had our first hail, snow and hail again in the same day. It was awesome !!!
We are living at a little over 5200 ft elevation with 360 degree views. Our home is everything we had asked for and so much more.
The second day in our home we saw a bobcat walking up our brick walk which we now call our "cat walk". I talked to him and he just wagged his tail twice at me and kept on going. This is his territory and he was letting me know that he was here long before we were and I will definitely honor that.
Our cat, Tinkerbell, stays inside and our Pom, Mitzi, whom we call Bushi, always has our watchful eye when we are all outside.
The deer, elk and coyote grace our property, as well as, the hummingbirds, quail, doves, redheads, stellar and scrub jays and many other bird species. The hawks and ravens love riding the thermals. We have not seen the bears or mountain lions as of yet and look forward to seeing them.
After 9 years of traveling we have finally been led to settle down and it was well worth the wait. We did forget what it was like to own a permanent home and we have plenty of things to keep us busy, especially since we do not own a TV.
In every move we have made it appears to get better and better and better as long as we follow our heart regardless of the fear that attempts to stand in our way.
I wish you peace and joy in the Holiday season and for all your heartfelt dreams to come true.
With Love, Diane
Channeled by Diane
Weather patterns are increasing in scale as the earth cleanses and purifies her body which affects every aspect of your own well being. With cleansing comes newborn viruses and bacteria.
What you are seeing on the planet is cyclic changes, in which some have not transpired for many thousands of years. The majority of your scientist are confused creating opinion based labels from what they see before them not based on the bigger picture nor sufficient historical data. What you are experiencing is a natural course of events that have occurred since the birth of your earth. These turn of events open up new discoveries and growth for all inhabitants. Much will be uncovered within the next two of your centuries. Perceiving this as a positive shift is a step of great healing.
You are and have been crossing into a new paradigm of life. Everyone will have their own way of accepting this shift and moving forward. We ask that you love them for where they are at, judgment is not the benefit.
A balancing of life is called for here. We speak of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. It is a time for self nurturing with steps of action to create tranquility, healing and peace. As with planetary cleansing and purifying the physical bodies will request the same, and stabilizing the bodies immune system is essential. Occupying your mind by learning complexity will keep it active and focused. It's purpose is to problem solve, otherwise boredom sets in and creates stagnancy, fear and self sabotage. Your emotional well-being requires living within the present. Are you expressing truth in simplicity and following through? Are you honoring your feelings and taking steps of action? Are you taking responsibility for your choices or displacing blame?
Your Spirit requires light hearted play and creative outlet. The consistent "No Time Syndrome" continues analytical control.
Freedom from perceived
restraints lift and quality
of life unfolds
We wish you tranquility,
healing and peace during this time of balance.....
HAPPY HOLIDAYS to ALL
Good Bodhi Day
The letters S-L-M, in the original Hebrew (which had no vowels) formed the words we variously know as, Salem, Shalom, and Islam. They all mean peace through surrender of your life to God. Let us all pray for, meditate on or mentally invest in, the hope that some day, the three religions all born of Abraham, will find peace through surrender not conquest.
We Wish You all Ease & Grace
Diane and I send our heart felt sympathy and love to all those who have suffered this year, from wars, fires and all forms of loss. I offer these few words, shallow comfort though they may be.
I find some of Ekhart Tolle's wisdom to be especially useful in times of loss, when it seems that all you have is your each and every breath, and your past seems erased or stolen from you and your future uncertain. Ekhart writes:
· “Is suffering really necessary? Yes and no. If you had not suffered as you have, there would be no depth to you, no humility, no compassion.”
· “Compassion is the awareness of a deep bond between yourself and all creatures.”
· “All forms are impermanent.”
· “All structures are unstable.”
Ekhart's chief premise is that of living in the moment. Carl Jung also writes about the magic of the present. But for the suffering consider how in the world it is that children living in abject poverty can still find joy.
Senator John McCain has spoken eloquently about the small reasons for hope and even happiness, that they found in the horrific confines of the POW camp.
It is by living in the moment that you can momentarily forget the pain of the past, the uncertainty of the future, and in that moment of peace or joy, find strength and recharge your vital spiritual energy, and regain faith in a brighter future.
For all of you suffering, we ask for ease and grace in finding joy, new hope and new life.
Conceive of God in terms of universal nature... a nature God in whom we really live and move and have our being, with who our relation is as intimate and constant as that of the babe in its mother’s womb, or the apple upon the bough.
This is the God that science and reason reveal to us; the God we touch with our hands, see with our eyes, hear with our ears, and from whom there is no escape, who is, indeed, from everlasting to everlasting.
After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, and so on-- have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear-- what remains? Nature remains.
-BY JEFFREY & DIANE PHILLIPS-
In the late, winter about February of 1998, our life changed with a dream. Diane had been on her spiritual path for a couple years, when they gave her a dream which included moving to the state of North Carolina.
The dream was not just a nighttime vision but started to manifest in very blatant visual ways during the daytime as she initially avoided asking me about the idea of moving to NC.
At that time we were planning our dream house, not knowing when or how it would materialize. At first we thought it would be in the mountains of Oregon, but that never materialized.
We chose to follow Diane's Spirit induced dream which meant abandoning or at best postponing that dream home until our retirement. At least retirement was the soonest that we in our limited vision, could see it manifesting given the path we had chosen.
Following that path meant giving up a lot of things. We sacrificed (gave up to God) my career in the nuclear industry, my retirement and medical plans, a stable home, and even the safety net created by the closeness of friends and family.
We sold or gave away most of what we owned and moved into a 37 foot travel trailer. We moved across country not even knowing where in North Carolina we were heading for except that it was in the “triangle area”.
Within three days of arriving in the area we found the park we would live in for over two years and the people who would show us the next steps and support us on our path. Without going into long details, which I have discussed before in other issues, here is a shout out to the Bunch family. Pat Bunch had dreamt of Diane before we ever hit town and Diane set up her practice in the back of Herbal Harvest, not just an herb shop, but a very special healing place. Pat's husband Ron welcomed us to his table and in to their family with the truest sweetest example of southern hospitality.
While helping out at “the store” I met Carl Sellars, whose wife Sheri would later ordain me as a minister of Spiritual Science. Again a shout out: to Carl and his new wife Bridget, however distant, you are ever my brother and to Sheri, still in NC, thank you teacher.
Then a friend of Diane's sowed the seeds of moving back to the West Coast and it again felt guided and right. So with California in our minds we moved to Northern California, carefully avoiding LA and stopping way up in Redding, just minutes from powerful Mount Shasta. We spent about 2 years up there before we got the bug (there’s that friend again) to try the LA area. This time the move was for me (so sayeth Spirit) and again we landed in the best possible place. While living in the quaint and surprisingly well balanced little town of Acton my tech writing took off and within a year I landed my dream job.
But that is not the end of this story. A little more than a year after that, Diane laid down and saw a sign in her eyes that said "Properties" and a couple of others that said "Pines" so we started looking up in the Tehachapi Mountains for a home It was here that we found our little Shangri-La at an elevation of 5,200 feet, with gorgeous views, plenty of wildlife, and a gated community. We found that dream home we had put off until our old age (not that we're all that young now).
This house has everything we wanted yet with room for improvements that we will make to really make it our dream home. In fact, looking at the blue prints it bears an uncanny resemblance to the dream home I had sketched out on graph paper nearly a decade before.
So the moral of this story is this; take the leap of faith. The universe rewards action taken in faith. The outcome might not be what you expected, but that's because expectation is all in the brain. There is a prayer that sums up the type of intent that is needed to manifest this positive result and I put it in my nightly prayers. It goes simply: “I will to will thy will”.
Does this formula work for everyone? I don't know. We each have different lessons, and it is sometimes hard to know if we are honestly acting on faith, and leaping toward something spiritual or acting in fear and leaping away from something else. But if you feel that pull to take the leap, know this. If you can truly put your faith in God (the Universe, Wokan Tonka, Allah, etc.) with all your heart and try to find that divine will, that inner guidance, you will never be hungry, and always come through life's challenges better, changed but better.
Australian film star, and renowned party animal Ken Guru, made news again today. A relative newcomer, Ken first jumped into the public scene with his starring role in "Planet Animal", but he has since become better known for his bar hopping, and wild lifestyle.
Last summer the public was shocked by this shot of Ken unabashedly posing at a nude beach just outside of Perth.
Then there was that DUI episode with three of Hughe's Bunnies (Ken split the scene but the ladies are shown here trying the get the car off of the park lawn before the police arrive.)
But yesterday, we obtained this new photo, of Ken's latest public incident. A notably chubbier Ken assaults a member of the paparazzi, knocking the camera and the photographer to the ground.
Neither Ken nor his agent would return our calls, but his on again off again girlfriend, Ima Jo Gato (on right), shown here with her band "The Chicksi Cats", told Serenity News that he was admitting himself to rehab.
Thngs are not always as they appear!
At Penn State University, there were four sophomores taking chemistry and all of them had an 'A' so far. These four friends were so confident that the weekend before finals, they decided to visit some friends and have a big party. They had a great time but, after all the hearty partying they slept all day Sunday and didn't make it back to Penn State until early Monday morning.
Rather than taking the final then, they decided that after the final they would explain to their professor why they missed it. They said that they visited friends but on the way back they had a flat tire. As a result, they missed the final.
The professor agreed they could make up the final the next day. The guys were excited and relieved. They studied that night for the exam. The Professor placed them in separate rooms and gave them a test booklet.
They quickly answered the first problem worth 5 points.
Cool, they thought! Each one in separate rooms, thinking this was going to be easy.... then they turned the page.
On the second page was written.... For 95 points:
Which Tire? _______
I got this from a web site, it was submited by a reader. I hope this is a true story, gives some hope for our education system!
I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy,
the only logical explanation is that I was
made for another world.

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. She dictated and I wrote:
Will you please take special care of our dog, Abbey? She died yesterday and is in heaven. We miss her very much. We are happy that you let us have her as our dog even though she got sick. I hope that you will play with her.
She liked to play with balls and swim before she got sick. I am sending some pictures of her so that when you see her in heaven you will know she is our special dog. But I really do miss her.
PS. Mommy wrote the words after I told them to her.
We put that in an envelope with two pictures of Abbey, and addressed it to God in Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith stuck some stamps on the front (because, as she said, it may take lots of stamps to get a letter all the way to heaven) and that afternoon I let her drop it into the letter box at the post office. For a few days, she would ask if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch. Curious, I went to look at it. It had a gold star card on the front and said "To Meredith" in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith took it in and opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers, "When a Pet Dies".
Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God, in its opened envelope (which was marked Return to Sender: Insufficient address). On the opposite page, one of the pictures of Abbey was taped under the words "For Meredith"
We turned to the back cover, and there was the other picture of Abbey, and this handwritten note on pink paper:
I know that you will be happy to know that Abbey arrived safely and soundly in Heaven! Having the pictures you sent to me was such a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.
You know, Meredith, she isn't sick anymore. Her Spirit is here with me--just like she stays in your heart--young and running and playing. Abbey loved being your dog, you know.
Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets! so I can't keep your beautiful letter. I am sending it to you with the pictures so that you will have this book to keep and remember Abbey.
One of my angels is taking care of this for me. I hope the little book helps. Thank you for the beautiful letter. Thank your mother for sending it. What a wonderful mother you have! I picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I am in heaven but wherever there is love, I am there also.
God and the special angel who wrote this after God told her the words.
As a parent and a pet lover, this is one of the kindest things that I've ever heard of. No way to know who sent it, but there is some very kind soul working in the dead letter office. Just wanted to share this act of compassion. Blessings of love, peace, health & happiness!
HAPPY HOWL-A-DAYS TO ALL!
Must be for no snow runs only (Look at them legs).
